The guest mix in the second hour is by Mav, a DJ / Producer and live techno performer based in Dublin, Ireland. She sits on the dark/industrial side of the techno landscape and coming from rock and metal roots, she approached electronic music from a different angle. Her exploration of industrial, dark, goth, & EBM broadened her musical viewpoint and influenced her taste and creativity. She loves strong four on the floor beats with aggressive, hypnotic grooves and little or no melody. The set you’re about to hear was created live for A Darker Wave in an improvised session.

His unique stripped down fusion of acid techno, hard house, trance and vocal samples from classic dance tracks evokes memories of the age of rave whilst being firmly rooted in the modern sound of techno. He starts his mix with an introduction specially written for A Darker Wave and includes vocal samples from the likes of The Carpenters, House of Pain, Gorillaz, Soul 2 Soul, Massive Attack and David Bowie over five of his own driving techno tracks plus others from Marie Vaunt, Louis M and many more.

The guest mix in the second hour is by Barbuto, a DJ, Producer and Label Head of Mavic Music and he’s based in Sydney, Australia. Originally from Austin, Texas he’s known for his explosive DJ sets and turntable-style trickery. He’s performed at events across North and Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Holland, Germany, and Malta. His tracks have been released on Codex, Tronic, Octopus, Unity, Set About and many others, with 19 top 100 techno chart singles. His mix consists of Mavic Music releases including all five tracks from the forthcoming VA album Impressions Vol 3, which includes my next release, ‘Rave Chant’.

The guest mix in the second hour is by Simone Capozzi, a techno DJ / Producer from Italy who’s making a name for himself with his powerful mixes and energetic original tracks. For 3 years he’s been learning how to create the sounds of Peak Time and Driving Techno and now he’s started to release his own productions. His first tracks came out on Natura Viva Black earlier this year and in June 2024 he released his first EP via Booster Music.
